Moment in time

In Te Ngahere we have been learning descriptive writing. We had to put descriptive words
in the writing. We had to describe a picture that was in a forest. I think I could of done more
because I only did three paragraphs and that wasn’t really much writing. I enjoyed this writing
because I like walking through forest and bushes so it was fun to describe a picture.

  Moment in time
Walking through all the bushes hear the sticks snap as you walk on  them,
hearing the bushes swaying in the wind. Feel the mud sticking to your shoes,
wondering where the path will lead you. Getting caught in all the vines hanging
down, listening to the bird tweets as you walk closer to the view. Pushing the flax
out of the way, shooing the insects as they fly around.

Smelling all the gross mud while walking through the forest, smell all the wild berries
as you get closer. Getting tired with your heavy backpack, wondering when your
going to stop, seeing the birds fly above your head. Feeling the tree bark as you
swipe your hand across the trees, hear the wood pigeons pecking at the trees.

The breeze hits you as you walk along the path, feeling hot and sweaty as you
walk closer. Getting eaten alive by the insects flying around, hearing the native
birds that call their friends.dying in the sunlight.
                                      There is the view!

Explaination writing

In Te Ngahere we have been learning about healthy ecosystems, we did writing to explain what a healthy ecosystem is. We had to explain what is in a healthy ecosystem is and how some parts work,   here is my finished writing. What I thought I did well was explaining producers, consumers and decomposers. I enjoyed planning the writing for some reason. I think next time I could get it done faster because I was talking a lot. Enjoy it

What makes a Healthy Ecosystem

A healthy ecosystem is made up of  inorganic matter and organic matter. Organic matter is living things like(animals, human beings) and also made up with producers, consumer and decomposers.
Inorganic matter is non living things like(rocks, sun, water, soil, nutrients).

Producers are things that make food for consumers like plants, they get   energy from the sun to grow. Producers make food from inorganic matter for the consumers.
Consumers are animals and human beings They eat the producers so they have all the  energy that the producers get, but sometimes they eat other consumers but mostly producers, they need food to obtain their energy. They get energy from producers and other comusers.

Decomposers are things that break down and eat dead things, animals and plants are things that get eaten or broken down when dead.  Things that eat and break down dead things are bacteria, fungi, chemicals and methane gas. So the ecosystem is not dirty.

A ecosystem is very fragile it can have natural disturbances and also human ones. When a natural or a human disturbance happens, it results in a unbalanced ecosystem. An example of a natural disturbance is if a fire or a flood happens it can change the ecosystems.  An example of a human disturbance is if a human takes an animal from an ecosystem , a human disturbance is caused because they just disturbed the ecosystem and then the ecosystem will be an unhealthy ecosystem or an unbalanced ecosystem.
